Chick N Max

Quick-service concept debuts with hand-breaded chicken tenders, wings and slow-smoked chicken

WICHITA, Kan. – Chick N Max announced the grand opening of the concept’s first restaurant today near the corner of Central & Hillside in Wichita’s College Hill restaurant corridor. Found at 410 N. Hillside, the in-line location joins Doc Greens and Starbucks as the newest neighbors at the fast-growing corner.

“I’ve had the time of my life pulling together the culinary team that brought our menu to life. We developed a proprietary blend of batter, flour and spices that really set us apart. The chicken is exceptional, we can’t wait for Wichita to give it a try,” said Max Sheets, CEO. “Chick N Max is a lot of fun and very functional. We built a clean, crisp and comfortable space that I hope is enjoyable.”

Additional Chick N Max locations are planned for the Wichita metro. The second location is under construction near 21st & Greenwich, the third will start construction this spring at 21st & Amidon. Sheets previously developed restaurants from coast-to-coast with a wide variety of brands; Pizza Hut, Lone Star, Fox & Hound, Ted’s Montana Grill, Smashburger, and Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.

“The momentum is really building around here. Watching our team train for opening day and finalizing all the many details that combine to create a memorable restaurant experience is invigorating,” said Sheets. “Serving fried and smoked chicken, in combination with our unique offering of sides, makes us appealing to moms, dads, kids, grandparents and everyone in-between. Come by and give us a try.”

Chick N Max was founded in 2018 by restaurant industry veteran Max Sheets. With a career in restaurant development that spans more than three decades, Sheets conceptualized the concept with GHA Design Lab and assembled a team of culinary professionals to perfect the menu of chicken tenders, wings and smoked chicken. The country’s first Chick N Max landed in the heart of Wichita, KS—a metro area long known for ties to successful restaurant start-ups and entrepreneurial genius. Additional Wichita locations are in development and plans are underway for expansion in various markets across the country.
